The numbers of the 45th Buenos Aires International Book Fair
Today, May 13, the most important cultural event in Latin America ends with 1,180,000 visitors.
Barcelona, Guest City of Honor, made 123 acts with different proposals, in a stand with its own auditorium and library.
Its entourage included authors, illustrators, musicians, and two photographic exhibitions.
The Space of Functional Diversity and Disability promoted different authors, specialists and social organizations dedicated to the theme of disability / functional diversity, both physical and intellectual.
For the second consecutive year, the space «Pride and Prejudice» of Sexual and Cultural Diversity hosted the multiplicity of voices of sexual dissidence and feminisms, with a library and an audience with its own daily programming.

The balance of the 45th Buenos Aires International Book Fair has reaffirmed its massive character and underlines the diversity of cultural proposals that have attracted and included audiences of all ages and interests.
This election year, this classic meeting with books and culture had an unquestionable contribution of political books, with many book presentations attracting a massive public turnout. It was theme that competed with the sustained interest in literature, other topics of interest always present and the outstanding contribution of Barcelona, Guest City of Honor, which gave its place to Havana in 2020.
Also highlighted were the activities of the Sexual Diversity Space, the Functional Diversity and Disability Space, the Youth Movement and the strengthening of the Professional Conferences aimed at publishers, booksellers, distributors, among other members of the book value chain.

About Fundación El Libro
Non-profit civil entity, is constituted by Sociedad Argentina de Escritores, Cámara Argentina del Libro, Cámara Argentina de Publicaciones, Sector de Libros y Revistas de la Cámara Española de Comercio, Federación Argentina de la Industria Gráfica y Afines, and Federación Argentina de Librerías, Papelerías y Afines. In 1974, an Executive Committee was formed, composed of several institutions related to the book. This Committee organized the first International Book Fair «From author to reader», and then the successive ones; until in 1984 the legal form of Foundation was adopted. Among its most recognized activities worldwide are the Buenos Aires International Book Fair, the Professional Book Conference and the Children’s Book Fair.
